Review guidelines
These rules apply to reviews and comments posted by our community. They exist so every review here is genuine, useful, and fair — to readers and to the products alike.
Who can post a review
Anyone with a registered account and real, first-hand experience of the product. One review per product per person. We may ask you to verify your account by email to keep reviews genuine.
What makes a good review
Do
- Write from your own hands-on experience
- Be specific — what worked, what didn't
- Say what you used it for and for how long
- Keep it fair, even when you're unhappy
Don't
- Post reviews for products you haven't used
- Accept payment or incentives to review without disclosing it
- Review your own company or a competitor's
- Include hate speech, personal data, or spam
Reviews we don't allow
We remove reviews that are fake, paid-for without disclosure, defamatory, off-topic, or posted to manipulate a rating — whether that's a company boosting itself or attacking a rival. Attempting to buy, sell, or trade reviews leads to account removal.
How we moderate
How our expert reviews differ from community reviews
Two kinds of review live on Revtons. Expert reviews are written by our named testing team after hands-on testing, and carry our /10 score — see our methodology . Community reviews are the opinions of registered users, shown separately. We never mix the two, and community ratings don't change our expert score.
Flagging a review
See something that breaks these rules? Use the report link on the review, or email [email protected] . We investigate every report and act where the rules are broken.
Changes
We may update these guidelines to keep reviews trustworthy as the community grows. We'll update the date when we do.
