Manus AI review
Manus AI turns prompts into finished digital work
Manus AI is an autonomous agent for research, app building, slide creation, media generation and recurring workflows. It fits solo operators and teams that want tasks completed in the cloud, but the credit model and output review burden matter.
What Manus AI actually is
Manus AI is strongest when you hand it a concrete task and let it work asynchronously.
What Manus can actually handle
Manus is not just a chat window. The product groups its work into building, creating, researching, automating and connecting. It can build full-stack web apps, create native iOS and Android app drafts, turn Figma designs into working web apps, generate videos and slides, run Wide Research, and operate through a cloud computer that keeps tasks running after you leave.
- Research: Wide Research splits larger investigations across parallel agents and is useful for source gathering, synthesis and first-draft reports.
- Build: GitHub and Vercel-style workflows make it practical for prototypes, fixes and small web projects.
- Operations: scheduled tasks, Mail Manus, Projects and reusable Skills help with repeatable work rather than one-off prompting.
Plans, credits and limits
The free plan is usable, but it is intentionally narrow: 300 daily refresh credits, one concurrent task, two scheduled tasks, Chat Mode and Manus 1.6 Lite in Agent Mode. Paid Pro plans unlock Manus 1.6, Manus 1.6 Max and Manus 1.6 Lite in Agent Mode, plus advanced research, website deployment, slide generation, beta access, 20 concurrent tasks and 20 scheduled tasks.
| Plan | Starting price | Included credits |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0/month | 300 daily credits |
| Pro | $20/month | 4,000 monthly credits |
| Pro higher tier | $40/month | 8,000 monthly credits |
| Team | $20/seat/month | 4,000 credits per paid seat |
Where it fits in a workflow
For a founder, Manus can turn a rough product idea into a prototype, then revise code through GitHub. For a researcher, it can gather sources, inspect images and draft a structured research brief while the task runs in the background. For a team, Projects, shared Skills, pooled credits, guest seats, audit logs, SSO and SCIM make it more manageable than a collection of personal AI accounts.
The short version
Pros and cons
What's genuinely good
- It can complete multi-step tasks without constant check-ins, which makes it more useful than chat for research and build work.
- The free tier is real, with daily credits and scheduled tasks that let you test agent behavior before paying.
- GitHub, Notion, Linear, HubSpot, Instagram, Zapier and MCP connectors make Manus practical inside existing workflows.
- Team features are unusually mature for an agent product, with pooled credits, guest seats, audit logs, SSO and SCIM.
What holds it back
- Credit consumption can be hard to predict, especially when a task takes wrong turns and spends credits before you catch it.
- Generated apps, research drafts and marketing outputs still need close review because mistakes can persist across revisions.
- The $20 Pro starting plan may feel tight for heavy agent work because it begins at 4,000 monthly credits.
- Support and refund experiences appear inconsistent, which is risky if a paid task loses data or burns credits incorrectly.
- Specialized work such as SEO strategy or culturally sensitive copy often needs more explicit prompting than dedicated expert tools.
Should you use Manus AI?
Manus AI is worth trying if you want an agent that can research, browse, build and organize work instead of only answering questions. I would not treat it as a hands-off production system yet, because credit usage and output reliability still require active supervision. Its best value is in prototypes, first drafts and internal workflows where review time is already built in.
